Funding Opportunity for Public Health Law Research (PHLR) Through New Connections: Increasing Diversity of RWJF Programming

In NLLSA on April 15, 2011 by Barbara

New Connections is a program designed to expand the diversity of perspectives that inform Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s programming and introduce new researchers and scholars to the Foundation, the largest philanthropy dedicated to health and health care in the United States.

The PHRL-New Connections partnership provides $75,000 in funding and a unique career development opportunity for underrepresented junior investigators. This includes scholars from ethnic or racial minority groups, first-generation college graduates and people from low-income communities working in fields related to health and health care. To qualify for PHLR-New Connections funding, junior investigators must be within 10 years of receiving their JD, PhD, or other doctoral level degree.

The 6th round of funding for PHLR-New Connections was released on February 23, 2011. Brief proposals are due May 5, 2011.
